Well these fans I have been running over my sump are getting annoying. Please let me know what Chiller Brand to look at.
Looking for quality, quiet. It is going on a 70 gallon/tank, 20 gall.sump
Also, I assume they have internal pumps, please advise.
Are they self priming. Anything else I should be aware of based on your experience.
Thanks,

If you want simple, get a drop-in You drop the chiller coil in the sump and the temp probe in the tank (or overflow) and you're done. they're not that efficent, and they're a bit more expensive, I think.

the other option is an in-line chiller. you put it in line somewhere on your return path. it's a bit more work, but it's worth it.

I believe the teco brand chillers have gotten great reviews. I have a PCH 1/10th on my 65. I don't think I'd put it on your system.

I run 2 Pacific Import chillers (2 tanks..) and they require a pump to get the water to the chiller. I have Mag drive pumps in my sump to supply the water.

Keep in mind that the chiller itself makes noise just like an air conditioner but to me, the biggest downside is the heat they produce while operating.

In the end you're basically going to be trading one evil for another...the upside to your fans is they cost a whole lot less $ to run!

I use a 1/2 HP JBJ Artica Comercial chiller and like Kathy said the biggest down side is the heat that it produces. My chiller is a flow through model and you do need a pump for it to operate. I think its worth the extra work in plumbing.
