I have a 110gal reef tank, just set up, I want to keep the temperature down, it hovers around 82-86 degrees in winter from the steam and summer from natural heat, I was looking at the AquaLogic 1/5hp chiller which uses 3.4 amps, I have a 20 amp fuse and also run MH'S/VHO'S, the chiller is $680 and is made for 75-125gal tank, is this chiller any good, and do you guys know of any other good chillers with the same hp that burn less electricity, thanks again.

Before you invest in a chiller, do you have fans running in your canopy? I had fans and still had to buy a chiller. I bought the Custom Sea Life 1/3 HP for my 150. I would recommend buying at least one step bigger than you need. If the 1/5 can handle up to 125 gallons, your tank would be on the upper end. The amps are alittle larger at 5.0, but IMO be better off with the larger chiller. I have owned an aquanetics chiller that was at the upper limits of my tank and then upgraded. I ended up running an under powered chiller on my 150 for years and ran constantly during the summer. Then when I bought my new chiller it keeps the tank at the temp I want and only runs occasionally. HTH Good luck....try ebay for chiller prices too. I bought my 1/3 for $620 on ebay.

Agree with Andy.
Get one size up and you save some $$ on electricity and reduced heat in the room (if indoor)

Cheers

yes I do have fans running in the canopy, but the MH/VHO still bring the temperature up, I dont want to use a biger chiller than a 1/5hp, dont want to use most of my ampage on the chiller, I still have to run pumps lights and my daily esentials like refrigerator,TV, and other things, the 1/5hp aqualogic uses only 3.4 amps, it says it can handle 125gal tank for my 110gal I think it should do just fine, I will check at ebay, thanks again.

I might get the 1/4hp chiller which uses 5.5 amps and is made for 125-180gal tank, is that a better choice myreef, thanks again.

I had to go with the 1/5hp do to the ampage problem, only have a 20 amp fuse, with MH/VHO pumps and other things in the apartment, I added everything up and came up with 17amps used from my 20 amp fuse, you have to give the fuse some headroom or it will constantly fail, I thnk I am at the limmit, cya and thanks.

I think it is a better choice. I know this is probably a new tank and you can't think of upgrading anytime soon, but it will most likely happen one day....might as well purchase wisely now.
