Just bought a chiller but not quite going to use it yet.A bit of a problem though. Can't quite fit a submersible pump in my custom built(CUSTOM KING) sump with so many tight baffles and not going to get it drilled,SO,can I use an external pump and use a u-tube with a strainer to get the chiller running and return it back to the sump?I would hate putting anything into my tank, aesthetics. Ideas?

Get a larger return pump and T it off. One going directly back to the tank and the other going to the chiller and then to the tank.

Then you don't have to add any additional pumps to your system or drill your setup!

Yeah,I can fit a maxijet but will it be enough flow for the chiller?I need at least 300 top 800gph

No, you will need a pressure rated pump for at least the minimum flow rate recommendation or the chiller will be ineffective for your purpose. A maxijet has almost no capability of any head pressure. do a test and plumb a maxijet to the chiller using fresh water at about the distance and height that you would have it if placed on your tank and you will see that the flow is inadequate.
