Christmas Tree Worm : Getting Sick??????

I have a Christmas tree worm rock on a piece of tan colored porite. It seems like the porite is getting a white film on the surface. the worms are still looking healthy and active. Does anyone know what that white film is and is the porite OK? Please help!! Thank you!!

It sounds like the porites are bleaching. What kind of lights do you have? What are your parameters?

When I got my xmas tree rock, the porites had almost all died - there was just a little patch on the top of the rock. The worms were fine though and the porites have grown.

the lighting is 150 watts metal halides and the water parameters are good. it seems like some of the white materials is starting to flake off like dry skin. I never seen something like this before, but I hope is just something that is temporary!
