Ok I remember when I just started the hobby about 2.5 years ago and after like 9 months into the hobby once i became more "knowledgeable" I decided to go with a cleaner shrimp and at that time I remember paying 12 dollars at most. Now I see these shrimps in between 22-35 price range. How come they seemed to just so much in price? That is 100% and more in two years. I dont believe thats part of the stimulus plan :lol2:

cleaner shrimps prices vary. it was pretty high before due to availability. now the prices are coming down because they are more readily available.

When people are willing to pay anything for something it goes up. When everyone finally says it is not worth it then the price come down because now thay can't find buyers.
Supply and demand may also be part of it. But when it comes to hobbies people tend to pay just about anything for something they MUST have.

very true. one has to decide if one MUST have that coral/fish/equipment RIGHT NOW. i'd like to have many chalices but not willing to pay huge amount $$$ for them. eventually the price will come down when some other MUST HAVE corals gain more popularity. they all appear to go in cycles. zoas, paly's, acans, duncan's, dendro's, etc. i remember paying something like $130 for a 4-5" across red/blue/pink eye chalice several years back. now i've seen FRAGS of the same coral going for more......that doesn't make me like the coral any more or less than when i first bought it.
