Cleaning Sand

Guys/Gals,

I'm about to add sand to my new 90 gal. What do most of you do to clean the new sand. Is it rinse with tap or ro or ro/di water. I was thinking maybe first rinse with tap then run it through again with ro.

What do you all think? Is this even necessary? It takes so long to make water, tap just seems easier.
