Clicking sounds in tank was actually a mantis shrimp

So for the past two years I've had this strange clicking sound in my tank. I thought maybe my tank was creaking or some type of relay was going off on my heater. It drove me nuts! Also, I've noticed a majority of my cuc and crab have gone missing one by one....

So today....I saw two eyes poking out of some live rock, and realized that I had a hitch hiker mantis shrimp in my tank. Flushed him out of the live rock and now is being held in a bucket filled with tank water until some member on MR picks it up tomorrow.

Kinda glad I found the culprit, but sad at the same time I have to give him away. However, with my parents taking care of my tank while I'm away at college, I don't think they would know how to feed him in my sump, plus its just more work for them.

Any similar experiences with finding hitch hikers like mantis shrimps in live rock?

I hope for a mantis everytime I buy live rock, so far all I've got was some dusters, mushrooms and aptasia.

I had a boxer crab as a hitchhiker once. I noticed him one night swaying his nems in the flow. He was pretty cool

I never had a mantis shrimp but I have to sm brittle stars as hitchhikers. Other than that, just snails and aptasia. Nothing too exciting.
