closed loop or power heads

been thinking if should drill my tank for a closed loop/ or should i go with power heads..

depending what your looking to do. i would do both but thats me also depends how big this tank is.... vortechs some wave action

I would say close loop if you can do it with a Oceans Motion unit to control water flow. I have one on my return and love it.

Tunze or Vortechs, closed loops are power hogs and can't move anywhere near the water volume. As corals grow you'll end up wanting to move the pumps around to accommodate the growth, Tunzes you can easily hide in the rock work.[FONT=&quot]

Bolth have there uses. I love vortechs and I love the Ocean Motions as well. It all depends on the application.

This. I like the flexibility of powerheads, the (generally) lower power usage, and the fact that you don't have to drill the tank (for flow at least).
