Clownfish and Anemone?

If you put a anenome in a tank after you get clownfish will they go in it or do you have to get the clownfish and anenome at the same time?

doesn't really matter which goes first. it's up to the clownfish if he/she wants to host anything.

Everything is pretty much up to the clown. If it wants to host it will, if not then you will have a nice anemone and a nice clown in the tank

I had a tank with an anemone, frogspawn, hairy mushrooms and hammer corals.

My clownfish hosted a powerhead.

my two clowns for over a year now haven't hosted anything. finally they started to host my torch coral - thinking i could outwit them, swapped places with the torch and anemone. Went back to hosting nothing

I have had clowns host Mushrooms, Colt corals, Zoas, Live rock. It is all what the clown want's to host LOL.

it kinda seems like clown fish will ALWAYS do the opposite of what u want them to do. especially when they look like grumpy old men kinda how mine do. they love being defiant.

lots of LFS have clowns hosting anemone already, they might charge a lil more, or you can put a bunch of corals that'll sting, eventually they'll go in one of them, stay away from condy.(haitian) anemone, never seen a clown host that specie.

As to getting them to host, spotlighting the anemone at night with a single led moonlight while turning off all other light worked for me.
