I have been noticing lately that my feather duster hasn't been coming out of it's tube during daylight. I have also noticed that my ocellaris pair has been attacking the feather duster when it's out, nipping and biting it. Even when the feather duster is retracted back into it's tube, they still nip and bite at the opening.

Can anyone explain this?

The two clowns have recently been hanging out (and sleeping) on port of the rock where the feather duster's located.

I've had the clownfish for a while, but they were hosting on my frogspawn and at a different part of the rock. I got the feather duster three weeks ago, and it was for a couple of days until the clownfish decided to stake its claim on that piece of real estate where the feather duster is at.

What should I do? Rearrange the rocks? Add some more rocks? another feather duster?

I came home tonight and the feather duster was out, and the clowns weren't attacking it. I'm guessing the attacks happen right about bedtime, when one of them goes and sleeps on the rock by the feather duster.

What can I do to prevent further attacks? The feather duster has attached itself to the rock already.

If its the same clown that you have from me then i had the same problem. \move the feather duster if possible she did nip on the feather duster for some time and then she just stopped.
