im trying to increase the pod population in my system. so i came across this article....

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/feb2003/breeder2.htm

i used a 5g tank, a ball of chatoe, airpump/line, and a light, i been adding a capful of DT's phyto once a day. its been about a week, and i don't see any pods on the walls or anything, not like i do in my fuge. am i just being impatient or is this method not rely effective?

Why did you add Chaeto? That isn't in the instructions.. Is it possible that your water is too warm since you are using a light on it.
Do you see the copods you added at the start still in there?

i put the chhatoe in there as a means of transfering pod. i got the chatoe from my fuge connected to my display tank. so this is what i used to seed the culture....i also turkey basted some of the water from deep inside my liverock and chatoe in the fuge to the culture tank in order to get a good population of pods to start reproducing...the light im using is a standard florecent that came with the 5g hood, if anything the water is to cold because i am not using a heater, could that be the problem?....

As the article mentions, ambient room lighting is fine, so you shouldn't need to use the additional lighting. Regular 'room temperature' is also supposed to be fine..unless you have central air and keep it on a very low temp.

Are you sure you got some pods in there when you first started? If you are, then you just need the last requirement that is necessary in all things related to reefkeeping...patience ;)
