Coral only tank

I am setting up a fluval edge 6g, planning to only put corals with live sand. Do I need a CUC?

Prob want a couple of snails to eat algae growth, but I'd think you can do with a very light crew. A couple of astrea snails would probably do the job. You might want to wait until there's some noticeable growth before you add them so they don't starve.
