I got a lot of bleaching and burnt tips when I had to drain my tank. The corals were exposed to air for a little over 2 hours with lights out. Some lps seemed unaffected but the sps didn't take to well to the exposed air.

FWIW, corals that are damp and kept in a sealed bag seem to react much differently to being out of water than those kept out of water in the open air. My guess is that a lot of evaporation is taking place drying corals that are in the air whereas in a small volume of air (and some drips of water) humidity rapidly reaches 100% so the corals remain damp. I would not intentionally leave corals sitting out of water in the air for any significant stretch.
