corrugated sheet vs starboard vs egg crate

I want to go BB. I was wondering if anyone has used this material

to distribute the rock weight load across the glass. I know people use starboard and egg crate, but this seems like it would be easier to work with. specifically it would be easier to get it cut so that it is totally flush with the side walls.

Any thoughts appreciated!

If that is the same material used in plastics signage it has hollow sections and it will allow detritus to accumulate in them. If it is solid plastic that won't leach any thing it may be worth a shot.

Egg crate can leach phosphates and will collect detritus.

I use a piece of HDPE.

Check out www.cuttingboardcompany.com. You can get any size you want custom cut. Just don't rest the board on the interior silicone.

ok thanks guys. I think I'm going to buck the trend and go with a black cutting board. is this stuff easy to cut? my elos midi has the overflow so it's not a perfect rectangle.

I heard they will cut it to ur dimentions including the overflows. Read up in mikeC build thread he talks about it I think

I have blue starboard. .

I'm not sure if they will cut for overflows but it cuts really easy. I had an Elos Mini with starboard and it was simple to cut.

I cut my board with a a jig saw.
