Cost of a new Tank

I am probably going to be getting back in the game now that I am situated in my new apt. I got a quote from a tank builder in jersey of 2300 for a rectangle tank with 3 panels of starphire 60" 180 gallon tank. Does this seem a bit steep? or is this reasonable?

Are you looking for a particular size? Oceanics ultimate tank have starfire front glass,beveled edges,factory installed black backs,and if you use their stands come with a lifetime warranty...Is your quote w/stand?

I know Glass Cages gets a beating for the lack of customer service and sometimes sloppy work, but I bought a 150' (60"x24"x25") with a custom canopy (16" instead of 12" tall to accomodate halides) and it was $1030 delivered to white plains NY - It has starphire front and sides and you are welcome to come by and see it anytime.

I recently saw 2 different people who ordered a 120 with Starfire from glasscages for around $500. One of the guys also bought a 125. Both were satisfied. No lifetime warranty. Are you a gambler?

lets face it , nothing lasts a lifetime execpt herpes and aselect other diseases -oh, and taxes too.

Bottom line - likelyhood of failing is within the first year or so - I believe glass cages is 2 yrs if, and only if you use an insulation to set the tank on. I do that anyway on all tanks.

Until I found a good price on the perfect used tank, I had gotten a few quotes for standard size 180s (72 x 24 x24), with perimeter bracing, two corner oveflows and starphire only on the front.
