Does anyone here make custom LED lights? I'm looking to add/supplement in some strong royal blue to my existing fixture for my soft corals. This will be additional to what I have today. Please let me know as we can talk specifics. my budget is around $100, can go higher if you can convince me ;)

Follow up on LED request

Hey Wingo,

Right now I got a Elos E-Lite I got used off Aruther (awesome guy) from here last week, the light is sweet however needs supplemental blues especially for coral growth.
I have a few mods in mind and also a stock led add on that the company may be able to supply however i'm open to options.

I was going to buy the materials at reefledlights, looking for some guidance and a clean look as you can see Elos is all about clean and sexy.

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Hey Ben, thanks for the kind words. Hope you are loving the setup. Yeah, Brunoboarder is right, the blue is just to make the corals (some, not all) "pop" and IME have no effect on growth. I originally had an Ecoxotic 453nm strip laying across one corner of the tank until it fell in (oops). I then made a strip with 3 Cree xre's and a meanwell driver out of acrylic and took it off after a few weeks to put a fan on it but stayed on the backburner, probably because I knew it wouldn't help growth.

That $30 xre kit on the site you linked looks like a good deal and if you're creative enough, you can fashion a nice aluminum or acrylic support arm to hang it off the rim of the tank. I like the way Elos used a simple and clean, yet effective clamp design to secure the e-lite to the edge of the tank. Ingenious. Let me know if you need any help, and I'm waiting for your tank thread.
