UPGRADE in the process. Doing alot of reserach and I just order the book The Reef Aquarium: Vol 3 (aka The Reef Bible). I previous had a 75 gallon reef tank. I'm def going bigger just not sure how large. My dilemma is a cube vs. rectangle & rimless vs. closed top. I LOVE the rimless cube look but I know there are some drawbacks (ex. fish jumping out, less real estate lenght wise, etc.) Can some MR members give me their insight on rimless cube tanks? Much appreciated.

There is no reason a rimless cube cannot be fitted with a mesh cover.

The bigger issue with rimless tanks is the placement of the tank in regard to the lighting..will it be shining in your eyes if you are sitting near the tank?

My 75 gallon tank was on a 10' wall and in the same room as my entertainment room. I plan on putting it in the same location because its the only good spot in my house. The lights were a issue if you look up while sitting but I tilted the fixture a little to aim more towards the back of the tank. It help somewhat. Are you suggesting there will be a light issue because the cube tanks are higher?
