i have two of the blue one's in a 48x36x27 as "moon light/night light". even though they are mounted about a foot above the water, they're bright enough to penetrate all the way down to the bottom and they really make the colors "pop". but with the 36" width, i think 4 of them would provide a better coverage.

it would not be feasible to use them as your main light. each unit has only 4 one watt bulbs, you would need quite a bit of them. it would not be cost effective. also you won't be able to mount/arrange them nicely and there would be crap load of power supply units to plug in. imo, it's not a good idea/option.

however, if you were to use them to supplement a t5 fixture, they would provide enough "shimmering effect" of a metal halide fixture. i think 3 units should be adequate for a 120 (72x18x22?).
