In light of the BR octopus thread I’d like to get some information from some of the more seasoned people on the industry forum. Can I get a list of dangerous species that shouldn’t be handled without special care? Pictures would help as well. Thanks

A few that has already been mentioned:
-Blue ring octopus
-cone snails
-lion fish
-stonefish

Thanks,

Kevin

Sorry, I have to disagree about zoos needing special handling, the same precautions taken with zoos should be taken with any coral. The odds of being poisoned with palytoxin are practically nil, matter of fact you have a much greater chance of acquiring a bacterial infection from any coral then being poisoned from palytoxin.

given that it's one of the most septic environments an 'average' type person prob'ly gets their hands into regularly, how about we just also add 'saltwater aquaria water' as well ? :P

btw- i tried to swallow a damsel once and it almost choked me to death! ;)
