Has anybody taken the black rim off smaller Aqueon or AGA tanks and used them as rimless tanks?

Thanks!

I'll take a look at one of the small Aqueons today. I imagine it'll be a small PITA to get it off, and the edges underneath may be pretty rough. For the size you're considering it may be easier to DIY one.

the plastic is soft enough to just razor off. It's pretty easy if you're careful.

Go for it and see if you end up with 20 gallons of water on the floor. Post pics either way.

20 gallons and under.

I've done a 10. Can't imagine a 20 would be much different. 20 long, right? I guess the height would be the critical factor.

Read on another board about someone doing it on a 40B without any issues.

I don't see a problem, I've done it on a 25 gallon, because when the original Eclipse systems came out ten odd years ago (has it been that long? holy ****), they didn't fit onto Canadian-made Hagen tanks unless the top frame was removed. I was scared witless the first few weeks that tank was running  But no biggie. If you are concerned, just silicone some glass strips around the top for reinforcement.
