Bummer....

I went to feed my captive 6" Mantis shrimp today and low and behold, it did not pop out and snag the food!!!!

Bewildered, I went hunting....

I found the remains of the shell, and this was not a case of molting, but the death of a mantis.....

Now if I could just catch that last one at the main tank at home.....

Goodness gracious! Why do they only keel over when you're TRYING to keep them? There are lots of people out there that wish they'd have your luck... Bummer.

Yeah, they are destructive, BUT they are facinating creatures to watch.

I would have been just as happy to destroy this last little green beast has I not caught his cousin the first time, and learned a bit more about them.

I have a 4 inch clown mantis in a 32 gallon. What kind of mantis was it and what were you feeding him???
