Been out of town since Thursday, and here is my opinion.
1. John was personal about the whole thing. He only singled out 2 people. 2 people's business policies specifically. By either not including everyone on this forum that claims to have net-caught only fish or by not just making a general statement, he made it personal.
2. Later down that thread he called me a hypocrite. There was absolutely no reason for saying that. NONE. Especially since what he was calling me hypocritical for had already been addressed in the post right above his. After this was pointed out by me, I sure didn't see any retraction of that statement. I would call that a personal attack. I understand the sense of humor that is used on this board by many people, and he was not joking in the least.
3. When Fosters & Smith's public policies were questioned, rdo threw a fit. Are only sponsors protected? If you don't throw money at rdo then you're fair game? Sounds like an absolute double standard to me.
4. I can't even believe someone suggested that we don't even use organization names. When an organization is partially funded by my tax dollars and that same organization asks for donations, then they are fair game. They are not a business. How ridiculous to even suggest otherwise.
5. If rdo doesn't think it was a personal attack, then why has it taken a week for you guys to sort it out? If it's not a mess, then what took so long? If it's not a problem, then why even start this thread??
For the record, as stated before, I don't mind discussing my business. I do mind being called a hypocrite for absolutely no reason. I do mind that Jenn was unfairly dragged into it. And you better believe that I do mind John not being called to task over his role in the whole mess. How in the world could some people (rdo staff) blame me for the Foster's and Smith thing but leave this unchecked?? That debacle wasn't anywhere near my fault, yet I still made a phone call and apologized to them. I've checked my messages- none from John or anyone at rdo. DOUBLE STANDARD. It's sickening. And I have a feeling that if John had singled out one of the sponsors, like spawner did a few months back, that this would be an entirely different matter. I'm ashamed of rdo and ashamed of what has been allowed to happen to the forum I worked so hard on for over a year.
