how did u adjust yours i tried to do it and the air sound is too loud is that normal? also what do u have on the side chamber i added chemipure to it is it worth buying the extra holder for it? thanks
I don't have anything in mine. IMO Chemipure is a waste of money. Carbon exhausts very quick. You don't need a sack growing bacteria in your system.
The airline can be noisy sometimes. I usually make sure that the pump + airline is free of salt creep. A cleaning/vinegar bath will quiet mine down when it gets noisy. Hearing some sucking noise is normal though. I keep the air valve all the way open BTW.
It always does make that hissing noise from the air tube, to minimize it you can just take off that orange piece on the top of it or just leave it all the way open which is how I run mine (it still skims just as well this way) or use a longer air tube and put the end somewhere that you can't hear it. As far as adjusting you can play with the height of the collection cup, I just leave mine all the way down and have the air completely open and it does the job well. I don't put anything in the side chamber but some people use it for carbon and stuff don't know if its worth it for the extra holder, maybe if you have a good use for it but i'm not too sure about that.
i run mine valve open all the way and the cup almost all the way down, about inch and half of the overflow tube exposed. i also have RowaPhos in the side chamber but not in the media box, didn't feel like spending 70 bucks on plastic box when i can just stick it in a media sock. it's a great skimmer, only wish the parts weren't so expensive. ie, there's a new needle wheel out for the aquabee but it cost 112 bucks.
i have the new needle wheel with it but i wouldnt know the diff.. i didnt leave the valve turned all the way because the water splashes too much even with the guard i see its doing a good job so far though anyway thanku all for the help im glad i bought this skimmer i had a aquac remora pro i didnt like it
