Denitrification?

I was looking at Bulk Reef Supply and noticed BRS Bio Pellets used for denitrification. I did a 10% water change last week (Friday) but noticed my Nitrates at 20 this morning I will perform a 30% water change this evening. I was wondering if BRS Bio Pellets will help. Do they need a reactor or will a media bag work the same way with water passing through it? Thanks

Nitrates

Yes my nitrates went up too until the bacteria colonized the beads and got a clouldy bacterial bloom. Nitrates then dropped quickly over several days. Water changes should be enough until the beads kick in over a 2 week later.

Should I do more then 30% tonight? I have no cleanup crew yet

I did a 30% water change last night and got nitrates down to zero I skipped the feeding as well for 1 day.
