If I was closer I would take it. I use them all the time and I have 5 of them in varying stages of erosion. Where in Brooklyn are you?

I could not keep my reef without one. I fill it to the brim, all the way up the tubes, then put one tube into the other. You need to get a smaller acrylic tube so you can put the tubes together. Run it until it is clear and all the powder is on the bag, then carefully put the tubes under water in your tank and pull them apart. Have a clip ready so you could clip one to the side of the tank while you put a strainer on the intake tube. Never shut it off while it is in your tank unless you are removing it. If you shut it off and re start it, your tank will be filled with powder. They are a little bit of a pain to use and if you do it like the instructions say, it is a horror.

The sell a primer valve 2 hoses on one side and 2 hoses on the other. You close the valve and turn it on and let it run for a few minuts till the powder on the bag. Then turn the valve and it starts doing its thing in the tank, when you are finished you turn the valve again and remove it from the tank. When i got mine it was about 5 bucks. Now it is probable 20.
