When I needed something to filter fine particulates I went to home depot and got an R/O canister with 1/2" fittings, put in a micron cartridge and hooked it up to a MaxiJet.

Went from this:

To this in less than 18 hours:

its a great idea i need to clean algae with out water change i might put some together like that and post the results thank you

I used a 1 micron filter. It's the same cartridge I used in the first stage of my 5 stage RO/DI. I'm pretty sure it would filter out algae suspended in the water column too.
