I need a new tank and found the perfect one on craigslist. I have been talking to the guy and he told me it was mine. I even offered to paypal or take the bus to go pay in advance. He said no problem he can hold it until tomorrow and a fellow MR member was going to pick it up for me. Now he just told me he sold it! :( To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. I wonder if it was someone here. Oh well I guess I have to get over it hope whoever got it enjoys it. This really sucks.

I am looking for something compact for when I move. Something like 30-60 gallons. This was a 36 bow front with stand, 4 T5 w moonlights and cpr overflow for $135. I see a lot for sale but most are out of my price range as I have been out of work for a bit now. Plus I don't have a car which makes it hard.

It took me 4 months and 3 "false starts" before I found the right tank at the right price. First seller sold it to someone else for more money. Second seller lied about the size and the third tank had a crack the seller failed to mention. I had to drive 3 hours to the end of Long Island to finally get my tank, but it was worth it for a custom 225 starfire.

Everything happens for a reason ...
Something better will come along :)

This can't be stressed enough brotha, I wanted a 57 rimless and was waiting for the right opportunity , and sure enough a great friend ended up doing an upgrade and gave me his 57 rimless for free!!! And it looks great , and it worked out perfectly cause right down the line his father inlaw wanted a tank and I gave him my 54 gal bowfront!! Everything works out for the best and I saw the tank running so I knew it was good !!! On craigslist every purchase runs a deep or leaky risk!!!!! Think about it!

Craigslist is a tough place. You really do not know what you are getting.
I have always been a fan of buying new tanks, used equip is fine, but tanks (that is where the mess can be made).

So much crap on CL...

And NEVER, NEVER send anyone a paypal expecting to get what you paid for.

Your 100% dead on brotha, this is the benefit of being on mr , so many reefers here can vouch for other tanks that are set up and we all pretty much know who has what, and how well maintained it is, this is why I also stay away from people who are selling equipment here but only have 3 posts and no friends lol they should have a mandatory 150 post rule to sell on mr , this will weed out all the non hackers that are not fit to do business on mr

I wanted to add that part and forgot about here on MR.

While I have to say people here do try to lowball alot, everyone knows everyone for the most part. Maybe not IRL, but if someone has thousands of posts and is selling something, you have to think that they are selling what they say.

IN MR WE TRUST :)

Just like anywhere there are always bad apples. There are certain people that I deal with on here and I will PP them instantly. But the people that say I want this, that, this, and that, and then try to lowball and then ask you to deliver it cause they don't drive, and they live an hour away. :)

Exactly lol that's why I say ( price is firm like a brick to the face) and thats a far too common thing , people show up to your house and then ask you the infamous question , is this the best you can do!!!!! Lol it's amazing but that's the way people are sometimes , some people buy it cheap and sell it to someone else for more , so they have to get it from you at a dirt price in order to profit !! It's scum business but it happens
