BRS has me thinking if LongIsland uses chloramines in the water. If so they have special filters to be used before the RODI. Am I coughing up another 200 bucks?!
They do not yet. They will let ya know when they start. If you wanna be sure call up the dept of water works tell them the area your in and they will tell you. They will even send someone out to test your water
The reason your DI resin is burning out so quick is because you need to pack the resin in hard with some type of tool to push it in hard. Happens to me even if i leave a tiny bit not packed
...if you call your water District by law they must send you a chemical anyalsis of the water, but just remember those tests were taken at site not your home so the numbers will be higher. We don't drink the water in my home because I'm on the end of the line, we have bottles delivered.
We were informed that Mineola would eventually start adding Chloramine to the water system but that was 6~7 years ago and I have since moved, so I don't know if they ever did but the point is that the town was informing the residents that it will eventually happen.
