Hi, I keep changing my mind on how to setup the tank as far as filtration and rock work.

Would be grateful to see how those of you that have a 200DD with Monterey style canopy which is pretty much sealed ended up organizing your stand, lights and rock work.

Dilemma #1 if I go with leds or MH I am thinking I have to butcher canopy lid. 8 to 10 VHO's will require a couple of fans.

Stand, minimum size sump that will work and skimmer, what type of skimmer worked for you.

Finally the rock work, tank is deep don't want to be playing with the rocks, want to set it and forget it. One center pillar, rock up against rear glass, two pillars, what would look good in such a deep yet compact tank?

If those of you that own similarly sized tanks can share your choices and don't mind people learning and applying your ideas it would be great if you can post and maybe even share a picture or two.

Thank you in advance!

i like the two pillar look, that being said one pillar being bit bigger than the other or higher and sloped downward. deep dimension tank offeres lot of different things you could do with the scaping

I am going to try one pilar like a volcano with the mouth cut off and let the rocks spill to one side.

I cant find a tank thread for you but that setup sounds nice, basement sump probably with that size sump and chiller as well.

My sump must be in the stand and I can't have a chiller :frown:

No chiller, those halide reflectors can be raised up high, also no basement sump, sump is under tank, temp increase about 2.5 degrees in the summer, I have a tank thread somewhere here.
