Dosing Q

I ran alk, cal, and mag test on Thursday, and found that they were all low.
Alk 8.3 dKh
Cal. 400
Mag 1110
So I did a 30g. water change on Friday, and ran alk, cal, mag, and trate test today.
Alk 7.7 dKh
Cal 450
Mag 1110
Trate 0

I obviously need to start dosing.
Question is;
Which do I start with? Mag or Alk?

BTW, the reason I tested is that some of my acans are not doing well, and someone stated that low alk affects them.;(

Mag 1st its hard to stable alk and cal with out the mag in the right range. bump it slowly use the reef chemistry calculator....

Also, thanks for the link. But since I am using BulkReefsupplies products I will be using their calculator.

So I did the BRS calculator, and it states I need to add 88oz. of thier mag chemical.
I'm thinking 7oz. twice a day for a week. Is this correct?

you can mix that 7oz with a gallon ro/di and drip it over night.

Not sure, but I have dosed 7oz. in my 155g + 30g. sump in the past with no ill effects.
Which is why I am willing to go this route. I need to add a total of 80oz.:bigeyes:

....dose it slowly, big changes to fast of anything can cause problems..once the mag is stable at 1350 or so then SLOWLY raise the alk. The cal is good at 450 and alk anywhere between 8-11 is good....but try and keep it stable once set by knowing how much to dose in your water changes to maintain those levels...

My sps have been growing pretty good, and I hadn't been dosing since up until a little over a month ago the numbers were on target.
I see now that I have to keep a closer eye on things.

It's great that the corals are growing, but now I have more work.LOL Oh well, it is well worth the extra little effort.:splitspin

Continued dosing the BRS's mag until yesterday morning at 7oz twice a day while testing every other day til yesterday morning. Checked pars yesterday evening, and I believe I am finally there. Need to check later today to see if there are any changes as my mag kept dropping if I missed one of the 2 dosings.
As of late yesterday:
Mag 1400
Alk 11.8 dKh
Cal 395 Dosed 3.5 oz last night to bump it up to 450

Acans are looking the same as before I started, those that looked good are still looking good, and the sucky ones are still looking sucky.
I also have 1 acro that is not doing well, but that can be due to my moving ph, and it not getting the direct flow it was getting before.
