If you do water changes every week you don't need to dose trace elements but if you don't then my recommendation is to dose since all trace elements get depleted over the course of no water changes. I dose 5 ml every day tropic marine trace a and k

It doesn't have to be the case sometimes. It also depends on the Salt mix you use. Some salt mixes are rich in all elements while other need dosing. Example, I use Instant Ocean salt mix and even with the regular weekly WC I need to dose. So the basic rule is to test, test, test.

Instead of trace elements, look in to dosing coral colors from Red Sea. It has tons of stuff the corals need and then some. I don't dose based on calcium uptake just 2 ml of A,B,C, and D 2 times a week. I have noticed a significant brightening of colors on all corals. Read up on the research of it and you may be convinced.

Ok cool, I'll check into that Rob. I use instant ocean myself and I only dose Alk because that seems to be the 1 that always being depleted. I just had a bottle of trace elements that I didn't want to throw away.
