Drilling holes in plastic center-brace

I have some shading in the center of my tank because of the brace.
Would it be safe to drill some holes?
Any tips on how many & the diameter of the holes itself?

i wouldn't do it if i were you....talk to hitsnorth (eric)about it and he'll tell you why from personal experience.

yeh man bad idea the tank will crack, or actually kinda like explode.

How bigs the tank? Talk to DRZL...he took out his center brace on his tank and replace it with a clear piece of acrylic..works really well and all the light gets through and no nasty shadow.

Thanks guys....I was about to do it. Man I would have been tight if anything happened.:headache:
It's on my 46 bf. 250 MH in the middle.
There's already (1) pre-made hole in the middle about 1". I was thinking of making 2 more.
The little coral I have has to stay away from the center.
