Durso issue

I noticed that my tank was starting to make an odd sucking noise. Sure enough, one the holes in my durso was completely blocked. I took off the cap and rinsed it out to get rid of the salt creep then put it back on. Now the water level is going too high in my tank, so I had to put a piece of tape back over the hole and the sucking sound is even worse.

Suggestions?

This has been a v. bad tank day for me.

if there is a hole slide about a 8" piece of airine tubing in it and push all the way down and pull it up till the sucking is gone, this is how i use to tune mine

The hole isn't that big. It's about the size of a finishing nail. When I first set up the tank, it never made a sucking sound.

i never had a factory durso, i always drilled the cap myself you move the riser tube up or down ?

I ended up using a 1" to 1/4" adapter with a JG valve (same as RO), I can open or close as needed to adjust the air flow.

Since you took it off to rinse, maybe you raised the riser a bit which would cause your water level to be higher then normal. Check to see if you can push it down a bit more. (and make sure nothing is in its way)

Also, don't block that hole on top, you need it open or else it will sound like a toilet because it will create a siphon and drain really fast.. then once its empty, it will wait till it can siphon again. That hole basically breaks a siphon
