i have some sort of like suds on top of the water but only in the section where the plants (cant spell them) are. what is this?

sounds like not enough flow - too much stagnant water

u can just scoup it out. its dirt not soaking up water.

anything i can do to stop this from happening don want it to disturb the tank. overall the tank is great lots of big pieces and everything else is growing quite rapidly.

nothing to worry about I get that in my refugium all the time just scoop it up and try to keep your calurpa trimed so it is a few inches bellow the surface of the water I notice on my system if I wait too long to trim my calurpa it happens more
