From what I recall, only if your return pump is a "pressure rated" pump, ie those pumps which are specifically used to pump against higher than normal head heights
1, you need to make sure the pump is pressure rated (usually it has a lower flow rate than a non-pressure rated pump of the same motor) to take care of the back pressure of the eductor
2, make sure the eductor does not suck in air when it is too close to the surface. Essentially, eductor is a venturi valve.
