Early this year I've purchased two juveniles.
They grew fast and have a very active life(also named engineer gobys),they often reshape the substrate.
Their lenght is about the same, but one became a fat belly (a generally thick midsection of the body),while the other is slim.

I wonder if the thicker one is female and the other male?Or one just got fat while the other is slim?
Is there someone who had them paired?
Also, how big they grow, how fast and if they ate some smaller fish from the tank?

My engineer goby is about one foot in length. I cannot comment on the pair.
To keep them from starving you need to drop shrimp pellets near where they are as they are shy.
I would not recommend this fish to anyone as they make a real mess of your sand and rock and are too cute to get rid of.

Exactly!
I know,I should get rid of the bigger one,but I love them too much.
However, they do a good job to keep the substrate clean. They put the dirt in one corner where I can siphone it out.Very smart fish!
Mine are not starving I feed daily.

I think I'll keep them untill my Fire Goby will dissapeare.
