elos alk test kit

so i bought the elos alk test kit
and as im going along with the instructions
it states:

"each drop of reagent corresponds to one degree of hardness. the total number of drop used equals the total hardness of the solution in *dkh.

-example 8 drops = 4*dkh"

...im lost

someone pls explain.

ok this is simple, 5ml of sea water in the vial then put one drop at a time the vial and swirl so it mixes. Make sure you count each drop that goes in the vial, when the water turns from a blueish to yellow then stop adding drops and add up your drops. Should be around 16-18 drops for a rating from 8-9 alkalinty

but what i dont understand is how

one drop = one degree of hardness.

but their example would show

16 drops = 8*dkh..

dude 1 drop + .5 dkh. Do the test count your drops till it turns yellow then cut it in half and thats your alk. Alk is one of the most important tests.

The old kits used to be one drop equals 1 dkh. The new kits 1 drop equals 0.5 dkh. Maybe you got the old instructions by mistake
