Is this the old E-lite or the new one that is full spectrum with the interchangeable LED strips?
The new one is nice, compares to the
radion or the vega, only thing is its priced at 800+ for the light itself which is a little high for the unit, and as far as what your getting, Radion is a better fixture for the same price. The fixture + controller come out to over $1000 for one light. You can get 2 Vega;s with a controller for that price, or 4 AI SOl's. IMO, the fixture should have been priced around 300$ for what your getting vs whats out and available. Getting a VEGA you can save yourself about 900$ in comparison and your corals will be just as happy and successful, have the same spectrum of color, and have a bunch of extra toys with the controller options.
The unit is fully upgradable for anything extra but it has no wireless access like the Vega's and the controller is pretty basic without any of the dings and whistles like AI or radion has. If your putting one of these over one of the
elos tanks to keep the sleek look it would be worth the money because you can't get the same look/feel from any other light like the hood on the midi or the sleek mounting bracket on the mini. If your hanging these from the ceiling over the tank or keeping them in your hood I would think about the AI fixtures or maybe a Radion.
Also, Elos is known for long waits to get parts if Jesse or Elos Aquastudio don't have them. If anything breaks expect at least a week to get parts.
The unit also pulls air in through the LED's itself to cool instead of a heatsink like AI does. Its an issue with evaporation and moisture in hoods. Radion has this same issue. AI was the only smart company to vent heat through heatsinks.
Hope that helps. I was contemplating getting this same light when getting my mini. I went AI Vega instead and aside from the mounting on my mini I don't regret that decision.
