I got these bulbs with my Elos fixture. I am very impressed with the quality of the bulb. The reason I am selling these is because I am use to running 20k's and I just cant get use to the 10000k look. If Elos made a 20k or even 14k bulb with the built in UV shield these come with I would only purchase those!
I used one of them for exactly 10 min just to compare it to the 20k bulb I use. The other is still sealed in the packaging.
Anyway these go for $110.00 a piece plus shipping.
I will sell the pair for $180.00 shipped!!!!!!

ELOS Spectra is a bulb for tropical Aquarium made to be use both in Fresh Water as well as in the Marine Aquarium. Characterized from an absolutely natural brightness, the same that can be found in tropical marine areas, in order to reduce the harmful UV rays, it is equipped with a special UV-P filter that protect the living animal inside our aquarium from the UV-C (100/280nm) radiation thus permitting the irradiation of only around 10% of the UV-B (280/315nm) radiation.
The UV-A radiation (315/380nm) will completely pass through this UV shield becoming "pure energy" for those autotrophic organisms (that use the solar energy for living) like, for instance in the marine aquarium, the zooxanthellae.
It is exactly this type of radiation that will help the activation of fluorescent pigments, like the S-320, that exactly absorbs the wavelength of the 320 nm giving a unique colors to the corals that populate our marine aquarium.
In common bulbs it is therefore the fluorescence of the corals, much beloved from marine aquariums, that will disappear if the proper spectrum will not be used.
For this reason ELOS have produced ELOS Spectra, an HIT bulb that respects the wavelengths which are basic for the photosynthesis.
Marked UV-P Ultra-Violet-Protection, ELOS Spectra is available in three different versions: 70W, 150W and 250W.
