End of cycle no nitrate

My nitrates with the real reef man made rock I used in this tank only went to 2 ppm but I did see some. If you did any water changes during your cycle it would have dropped your nitrates.

Well, I'd start with getting another test kit just to get a second opinion of sorts. Then if the other test still shows no nitrate, which is weird as long as there's no ammonia and nitrite I'd say you're good to go.
You can also test to see that you are done with your cycle by adding a source of ammonia and seeing how fast the ammonia and nitrites drop back down to zero and then see where your nitrates are in relation.
At most it will add another day or 2 before you can add your CUC, but at least you will know for sure
Do NOT do this if you have added any living creatures to the tank!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd probably go for 'real' ammonia.. try a half a capful and see if it registers on your kit, if not add a tiny bit more. Just make sure you get pure ammonia with nothing else added in.
Or you can try a fresh raw supermarket shrimp that that will take longer to raise the ammonia level.
