They are large and loud skimmers. They also require a large pressure rated pump (uses a large amount of electricity). Downdraft skimmers are an older style skimmer, I would be looking for a recirculating skimmer or conical skimmer. They are much more efficient and use extremely less electricity to power them.

hmmm how far is that from peekskill ? ever go to any of the pet stores in peekskill ?

20 min to peekskill, I go to fishtopia in fishkill, the $ are good and the staff is very knowlegable !very happy with the store, try it.

i wuldnt spend another dime in there, been there, never had a fish live i have gotten from there, plus since jeff{ think thats the owners name } isnt there much anymore the place has went to crap, they will still sell you a obviously sick fish for full price, tried to get one before to try and save it and said they couldnt budge on the price, have a nice store down my way, shoot me a pm and i'll give you the addy, and prices are better

I think the place is awsome I bought alot of fish from there for my and all my friends with tanks ! dont forget they get the fish from only a few diffrent places,I bought my rock there and all my equiptment !

These skimmers are very easy to setup. Assembly, Plumb, Turn On, Dial In

I have set them up in the past. They do take a little dialing in, but as I stated earlier, there much more affordable, smaller, energy efficient skimmers on the market.

Also, as stated earlier, ETSS calls for a Iwaki 40 or 50 RLT Pump, which in itself is not a cheap pump.

Can I use it in the sump ? and what hight dose it have to be at ?

yes you can use it in the sump or you can drill the sump and use it external, if you go with it submersed your going to need around a mag 18 to drive it, this is on the 150g tank ?
