Hey,

I have Maroon clown, and he will not leave the BTA alone!! I have tried target feeding mysis to the BTA, but the crazed clown wont leave it alone. Im worried that its going to go hungry...Ideas??

Feed the tank(or the clown) then add big pieces of meat(krill, squid, silversides, etc)

I generally put 2 big pieces in the bta...one makes it into its mouth

I will try that later on in the week, I dont want to overfeed. Especially if the clown is feeding the BTA. But it seems he is wiggling the food away, instead of feeding.

Thanks for the quick responses fellas!

I generally feed it a few squirts of mysis , cyclops , squid , and clam. I take all those and put them together in a bowl with selcon and garlic ( a drop) let it defrost and feed the clowns and then feed two RBTA. I've found that they are healthier ( more tentacle expansion and vibrant color ) than when I feed them bigger pieces of food ( silversides).
I started doing this after attending a lecture on feeding corals and anemones. In the lecture the speaker stated that it takes more energy on behalf of the anemone to digest the bigger pieces of food than the energy that it is getting back from the food itself. therefore it doesn't get the appropriate amount of nutrition.
