filter sock problem

In battling a microbubble problem i put a filter sock on the exhaust of my protein skimmer, i guess the added water pressure is causing water to be too high in skimmer and im overskimming any ideas.....

the exhaust pipe has a T fitting on the end i put a sock on both openings bc the first sock caused water to come out the top

I have a filter sock on my skimmers exhaust with nooo problems.
Maybe the micron rating of the sock is too high?
have you tried using just a plain mesh media bag?

is the protien skimmer new....?
some times new skimmer bubble or when some substance is in the water ...five it afew days.

give brand of skimmer etc..

try using a ball or gate valve to control ur exhaust

was the filter sock brand new. if so it will cause over skimming for a day or so theres something on the fabric. Wash them first.
