Well, the camera crapped out...I think there may be something wrong with the power button, though it's just my luck it would give out the first day I use the damn thing. I'm pissed, but did manage to snap some good shots of the tank :

Chip's Reef Tank Pics

Advance warning...they're pretty large, like 150K each on average.

Let me know what you think!

Peace,

Chip

You know, I suspected that was an aiptasia, but I've never seen a good enough picture to make the comparison. What does everyone suggest I do to get rid of it? Just take a scissors to it?

Peace,

Chip

As far as the aptasia, I think the scissor idea is not good. From what I've read, they reproduce by leaving tissue in a spot when they move. By clipping it, you're releasing a lot of tissue and possibly spreading it. The two options are syringing hot water and calcium supplement directly into the anemone, or getting a Peppermint shrimp to eat it. I'm sure there are other options people will mention.

Great looking tank Chip, nice pictures, how long have you had the Gorg?
Steve

About four months now. It's survived the heat wave I had a couple months ago, and it now recovering nicely. I also have a red one, and as soon as the polyps come out I'll snap a pic of it as well.

Peace,

Chip

Chip, do you target feed these Gorgs?
Steve

Steve,

No, I don't. They are right in the water column where I feed, and the food always washes over them. I know they are partially photosynthetic, but accoring to Borneman's book they should have died on me by now, so who knows? I must be doing something right...

Peace,

Chip
