it's hard to say from the pic but red planaria, (macropyga) have a distinct red spot.
which ones are the coral eaters? i hope you aren't referring to the red planaria, because they do not eat coral.
I realize that the red planaria aren't coral eaters. I'm hoping that that's what these are.
This guy is somewhat translucent and the pattern is kind of pinkish. I haven't seen many of them, and I imagine my mandarin (who is very fat and happy) may be keeping them under control.
If they're not coral eaters, I'll suck them out when I see them, but am not going to go crazy trying to get rid of them. If they are coral munchers... I'm in for the long haul and will be preparing some FWE and enough water to change the volume of the tank.
it doesn't look like the coral eating one but also doesn't look like planaria http://www.melevsreef.com/id/flatworm.html Either way they are pests and can/should be siphoned out.
Huh... found them on a mushroom and they look a bit like the ones on the right, but with a very distinct pattern. Either way I'll be removing them when I see them, I just don't want to FWE the tank unless it's really necessary.
Yeah, I know it's fairly safe and that it's the toxins that the flatworms release that cause problems, but if they're not coral eaters and I can keep them under control naturally, I don't see a need to eradicate them.
