i got this goni that has a large area where there is no tissue just exposed skelton and the scar keeps expanding ,the parts that arent damaged look fine would it be a good idea to try and frag this coral to save whats left of it or what, i know its said when goni get a scar like the one mine has its usually done for

I would try to frag what's left that is not damage and see what happens.

the skelltion of the coral is basically a half sphere to save it i would have to
cut the 4 sides off turning 1 circle coral into 4 fingers would this kind of thing
kill the frags it seems like it would cause alot of trauma

I'd say it probably won't work. Once the tissue receeds from the skeleton there isn't much that stops that process so fragging it (by cutting the skeleton) wouldn't net you much of anything, sorry :(
