So for those of you who have been following my previous post, (see link http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/tank-threads/118499-tank-collapse-fresh-start.html) I have decided to slowly break down my 24 Gallon Nano and set up in it's place a 29 Gallon Biocube. This spur of the moment decision came about as soon as I saw that EarthGuy00 was selling his tank at a must have price. Included was a Sapphire Aquatics Protein Skimmer as well. I just finished filling the tank up tonight and am sitting in front of it right now waiting in anticipation for the detritus to finally settle.

I will be leaving the 24 Gallon running for about the next month or so, just until the tank has finally been cycled entirely. That way I can keep from doing anything else impulsive that I may regret :p.

As of now, I currently have the following running in the tank:
1. Maxi-Jet 1200 for retutn
2. Koralia Nano for extra waterflow to help syphon out detritus
3. Filter Floss
4. Sapphire Aquatics Protein Skimmer

I will be posting up more pics as the tank progresses slowly. Here's to another fresh start!

Kool looking start, I'm on my second start and hoping everything goes good.

Dude with a basement like that I would have me a nice looking fish room ;-)

I'm Nemo's mother.

Thanks man. Im hoping all goes well too this time. Its so much easier the second time since I already have all the equipment loll.

There's not much more room for many more tanks... my bro has a 90 and a 55 gallon freshwater setup down there already. My tank is the shrimp of the room lol

Day 3 Update***
So Ive been ghost feeding my tank for the last 2 days and have been testing for Ammonia spikes just to see if the tank has begun to cycle. My ammonia levels are currently somewhere between 0-.2. Is this normal? With my precious tank, I was unable to test the water parameters until about 2 weeks in so Im not sure around what level my ammonia levels should max out at. Please give some input if you can.

I also just did a 5 gallon water change on both this tank and my 24 gallon nano so I recycled the water from my 24 and used it to top off this tank. I figure this will at least help contribute to my beneficial bacteria population.

In other news, I recently decided on the kind of aquascaping Im going to go with for this tank. Enjoy the pics.

I created many underpasses for my Flameback Angel to be able to graze on as well as plenty of possible burrow spots for my Jawfish. I hope they like it.

So, the tanks finally finished cycling. Yesterday, I threw in 3 Zoa frags because of the ease of care. Within half an hour of being in the tank they were completely opened up.In a few more days, Im hoping to throw in a few more frags and possibly a fish. I'm still coming up with some ideas. Enjoy the pics.

So its been a while since I posted any pics but that was primarily due to me wanting to make a big unveiling of the tank when it was completely up and running. The time has finally come!

Some sad news though, I recently lost my Tank-Raised True Pecula which accidentally got swept into the overflow and was killed by the return powerhead :'(. In his memory, I am posting some pics of him enjoying his short-lived time in the tank. Enjoy everyone.
