I just got a new BIG jug of Kent Phytoplex. Gave the tank its first capfull from the new bottle and asked my 9 year old to put the bottle in the "icebox" in the basement.

He mistakenly put it in the freezer section..... 24 hours later I found it there frozen solid!!!!

I'm assuming the whole reason to feed something like Phytoplex is now defeated. It kills me to see a whole jug wasted so before throwing it away, I thought I'd double check with the group.

Is there any use left in feeding the thawed juice? I let it defrost slowly in the "fridge" and it doesnt smell any worse now than it did when new.

Don't be fooled the odds that it was live phyto before it was frozen were slim.

I didn't say that LOL I just said it was dead when you bought it. I wouldn't use it. I would take some water and culture my own.

don't think the phyto in the bottle was live in the first place, but rather perserved phyto cells....if it was frozen solid, the ice crystals formed would destroy any cells present (alive or dead)

so i wouldnt dose it either, its just a bottle of phyto juice now :tongue1:
