Just wondering, how can dry rock be live rock?

Mined rock has a bunch of phosphates in it because it was never in the sea. Live rock which was in the sea will have much much less phosphates which IMHO is much more important than any life that comes along with it. So there is a huge difference between dry live rock and dry mined rock such as the stuff reefer rocks sells. Answer your question? Are you interested in buying any?

I added another slab that measure 5"*12" and a few more branches that I was thinking about keeping but decided not to. They were in my tank cycling and I took them out midway. Don't have pics of these because I broke my phone and don't have my camera cord with me.

BTW tsinkoy,

IMO people should watch out for rock coming out of an establish tank that has hair algae and other bad algae all over it. Usually its also loaded with phosphates. I'm not talking about cycling algae either but when you have a tank up for some months and the rocks are covered with algae. Usually its a sign that husbandry went wrong somewhere and you'll have to take care of it in your own tank.

Hi! Sorry, I wasn't being smart-alecky. I was just wondering how dry rock can be live rock. I now know it's a type of rock, as opposed to being literally "dry". Or am I not getting something here?
