I have two clams (Maxima and Dersa). I have had the maxima for 2months 3 weeks and the Dersa for a little over 2 weeks. They both look great. They fully open and present great color. I was wondering how long do you keep them before they start showing signs of stress or improper conditions?

Well, i would think that after nearly 3 months, the maxima, one of the more sensitive clams, would have let you know if tank conditions were unacceptable. If they are both opening fully and showing good color, then they should be healthy. Describe your system; i.e., lighting, tank size, calcium and alk. level, etc.

Hmmm...that lighting might be a bit week....your best chance of success would be with some good MH lighting...your alk and calc levels are pretty good...might try to keep the calc a little higher....definately read Knops book....
